namie amuro Essentials – a 30-track playlist showcasing 25 years of J-Pop's goddess legacy

Ever wanted to get into an artist and didn't know where to begin? MIUSIQ.NET will show you the way!

We bring you a 30-track playlist with the very best of namie amuro. I organized this playlist keeping in mind introducing the artist to new fans who might not know where to begin. Some of you might be more familiar with miss amura's latest musical output so I kept the playlist in a inverse chronological order. Newer songs that I find more relevant are at the top of the list.

It's fantastic to see a woman cultivate such legacy throughout 25 fucking years in fucking Japan. We all know their music industry is savage – in a distinctly misogynistic fashion. Therefore, I tried to keep a certain balance between showcasing her more recent bubblegum pop efforts, her R&B/hiphop-influenced era (a personal favorite and also "PLAY" is by far her best album tbh!), and 90s/early 00s idol-ish days. All her musical cycles are iconic and important for a reason and it's rather admirable that she flawlessly kept up with all trends to this very day so cheers to that! Tracklist & download link below:

001 Do It For Love // 002 Mint // 003 Golden Touch // 004 Stranger // 005 Hands On Me // 006 Alive // 007 NAKED // 008 Break It* // 009 UNUSUAL // 010 make it happen // 011 FAST CAR // 012 WILD // 013 Dr.* // 014 Do Me More // 015 WHAT A FEELING // 016 HIDE & SEEK // 017 CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK // 018 Violet Sauce // 019 WANT ME, WANT ME // 020 ALARM // 021 Come // 022 Put 'Em Up // 023 Say the word* // 024 LOVE 2000 // 025 PLEASE SMILE AGAIN // 026 How to be a Girl* // 027 a walk in the park* // 028 Chase the chance* // 029 Body Feels EXIT* // 030 TRY ME*

* = Re-recorded/re-arranged version from "Finally"

There's also another playlist that we've done collecting her greatest deep cuts (such as collaborations, album tracks, and b-sides). Check it out!:

P.S.: I didn't include any of her slow numbers since "Ballada" exists and does a great job at introducing everyone to her few ballads and mid-tempos.

P.S. 2: Namie's discography is not available at Spotify nor Apple Music streaming services so unless you want to listen to previews only, you gotta download it or make a playlist of your own in your device!

Previews + Apple Music preview widget in case any of you want to add this playlist to your library:
